Belgrade is the capital and the largest city of Serbia where you can visit and enjoy attractions like museums and parks. The house of the royal family that is known as the White Palace or Beli Dvor is always open for visitors. It has a lot of artworks that are valuable. While here you can enjoy the vibrant nightlife with features like barges that are spread along the banks of Danube and Sava rivers.
The gateway to this city is Belgrade Airport which is also Serbia's busiest airport. It is located 20 kilometers west of the city center. Jat Airways which is the national flag carrier uses this airport as its hub, and it is also a hub for charter, low cost and VIP airlines and also Pelikan Airways. The airport has two terminals that are located next to each other and connected through a hallway. Some of the scheduled flights that serve the airport are Air France, Alitalia, Croatia Airlines and Adria Airways. There are also chartered airlines like Air Cairo, Air Memphis and Pegasus Airlines.
Security measure at the airport are strict where apart from going through security and passport control, they are also not supposed to carry liquids that exceed the allowed amount. All the checking is done before you enter the departure lounge. There is a VIP lounge that has a separate check-in and passport control system. The main lounge has three parts that include leisure, media crew and press conference and the last one a presidential suite.
When you arrive a the airport, you can use the various mode of transport from the airport to the city center. One is JAT Airways buses that have a terminal at Hotel Slavija in the city, there is a bus leaving the airport every hour and the ride takes about thirty minutes. The other modes are taxis and hotel shuttles.
