When ranking the largest airport in the world in terms of its size, Dammam Airport comes at the top. This airport is located in the 5th largest city of Saudi Arabia. It is situated only 12 miles away from the city. It is very easy to approach the city from Dammam Airport, as you can either use public transport or rent a car from any well reputed rental car company at the airport. Talking about the public transport, it is the least preferred choice for visitors landing at the airport.

• Dammam Corniche - It is a good picnic spot for families, especially when the weather is in your favor. It is actually a green strip that is facing towards the gulf.
• Al-Morjan Island - It is an artificial island having one monument in its center. If you are travelling by this island in your rental car in the afternoon, stop by there to walk around. However, it is also depends upon nice weather.
• Flagpole - Have you seen 60 meters tall flagpole? Visit here and take your photographs with it.

Things you can Do

• Eat - You can go to many famous restaurants located in the city where you can enjoy native delicious dishes. Some restaurants in the city, especially closer to the Dammam King Fahd Airport also provide you best quality international food. You can visit to AL-Karia Ash Sha’abia located in Corniche area. This place truly reflects the Saudi culture. Moreover, you can have their traditional dishes here.
• Shop - Shopping is fun in Dammam. You can visit Marina mall and Ash Shate’a Mall located near the Corniche area. These malls are not different from the malls you find in European or any other western countries. Other than shopping, you will find many international food brand present in these malls.
• Drink - It is not possible to find an alcoholic drink in Dammam, as it is banned in the whole kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, you can find several juice parlors and cafes in the city. If you want to taste beer while staying in this city, you can only get non-alcoholic beers from some shops.

To summarize this, we can say that it is not a perfect to land at Dammam Airport to spend vacations, but it will not be entirely true that you will get bored during your stay as well.
