The currency in Mexico is Mexican pesos. Guadalajara was first settled in 1532, by Juan de Oñate. The city did not stabilize because of lack of water. In 1533, the city was moved near Tonalá. Later, Nuño de Guzmán ordered that the city be moved to Tlacotán. This is where the present day Guadalajara is located.
The oldest part of the city is the historic downtown. The Plaza de Armas is a plaza containing gardens, ironwork kiosk that was made in Paris during the nineteenth century, and ironwork benches. The Rotonda de los Hombres Ilustres was built in 1952 to honor distinguished Guadalajarans. This is a beautiful travel spot. And the park contains seventeen columns in the rotunda. And, the urns of ninety-eight people are located here. The Jalisco Regional Museum is a museum of fine arts, paleontology, and history. One of the most famous exhibits is of a skeleton of a mammoth.
Guadalajara has many sky scrapers. And, business is centered around the information technology field. Businesses such as Hewlett-Packard, General Electric, IBM, and Oracle, have facilities in Guadalajara because of the cheap labor and high volume of work. If you want to go shopping, go to the Galerias Mall. The mall has stores like Adidas, Baby Phat, and Sanborns. The climate of Guadalajara is a humid subtropical climate. The summers are warm and wet. And, the winters are dry and mild. Be sure to dress accordingly depending on the time you go to Guadalajara.
