The sanctuary is located on a 150ha of land and houses thousands of woodland trees, a collection of mammals and birds as well as a river, Lingadzi, flowing through the park. There are nature trails in the park as well in case you want to breathe in the fresh air and sink in the serene atmosphere of chirping birds.
• The World War 1 Memorial - you will spot this attraction on your way to or from Lilongwe Airport. It is a monument that marks the time the colonial settlers dwelt in the city.
• The Old Town Market - this old market is a major lifeline of the city as most of the food is brought here to be bought. The market opens as early as 5am with trucks loaded with fish parking in the market center. The fish then get off loaded to the ground where they get sorted before being sold. The other food vendors will come much later in the day with their baskets or trolleys.
• The Town Mosque - it is located in the old section of the town as well with two raised prayer areas. It’s one of the beautiful architectures you will see in the city.

When you are done with buildings and ruins you can visit the great witch doctor of the town, Dr Kabula, who was a former guard at the French Embassy!
