Kelowna Airport is ten minutes drive away from the city center. It is about 12 kilometers northeast of Kelowna. It has a single runway and it operates scheduled flights to major airports of Ottawa, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton. It has a modern full-service terminal with eight flights loading positions that have jet bridges. The arrivals area has three luggage conveyor belts.
There are a number of food and refreshments services that include White Spot and Tim Horton's restaurants, stores that sell tourist related commodities and there are various duty-free goods. This airport offers eleven direct flight services that include six domestic destinations and five international destinations. Chartered services are also offered by Air North, Canjet and Sunwing Airlines that fly to Vancouver, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Las Vegas and Mazatlan.
There is ample parking at the airport where more than 2,600 stalls are available for short and long-term services. They are well secured and there are slots for handicapped parking. In both the parking lots, you park for free for the first 15 minutes, which makes it convenient for pick-ups and drop-offs because you will not be forced to drive around while waiting for your relative to get off the plane. If you don’t have private means of transport, you can use the other modes that are Airport Shuttle Buses that are located at the entrance of the south terminal building. You can contact the shuttle companies for prior booking. You can also rent a car from the four companies whose offices are located near the arrival area in the terminal building. These companies are Avis, Budget, Enterprise and National car rental. Taxi and limousines services are also available. All you have to do is take the most convenient service for you although that will depend of how affordable it is.
