Lambert-St. Louis airport is an international airport located in the northwest of St. Louis county at a distance of about 14 km. The airport is named after Olympic athlete Albert Bond Lambert. This airport was originally launched as Kinloch Field. In 1928 ,eventually it became named as St. Louis airport, the very first municipally owned airport in the United States. This is the largest and busiest airport of the state in terms of traffic. Over 12 million passengers traffic was recorded at the end of 2011.
The airport currently consists of four large run ways to handle and control the immense air traffic. There are two huge terminals for passengers serving for different purposes and handling issues . At the airport West Star Aviation is the largest fixed base operations (FBO) company.
